LEED NC for Project Managers Course Description When: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 Continental breakfast & lunch will be provided. Where: UC Santa Cruz *Who: Are you a UC or CSU or community college project manager that has to deliver an exemplary green project soon? This interactive seminar shows you the path to success, helps you avoid common bumps on the road. Hear a step-by-step process that takes you from project inception to delivery! What: Program Description UC project managers are now required to manage the construction or renovation of green building, and CSU is developing similar policy goals. The path to successful implementation requires a host of new considerations – most of them are not technical at all! This presentation guides the attendee through the development process, with the preferred future of a green or certified LEED building. A procurement checklist is provided to help track the consideration and inclusion of sustainable principles on a case project. Topics include: commitment, budgeting, programming, consultant selection, design, construction and operations. For each topic, additional information is provided on an annotated checklist. The audience is heavily involved in creating the action items for the case project. Through participation, the audience gains skill in determining the forces at work in a green project, and how to reach the environmental goals cost effectively. Learning objectives
