INTEGRATING WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING SYSTEMS INTO GREEN BUILDINGS PRESENTED BY: THE CALIFORNIA COLLEGIATE RECYCLING COUNCIL ( CCRC ) A TECHNICAL COUNCIL OF THE CALIFORNIA RESOURCE RECOVERY ASSOCIATION Workshop Description When: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 Where: UC Santa Cruz Registration Fee: $35 *Who: All project managers planning, implementing, or managing green building projects and waste reduction and recycling professionals. What: Program Description UC project managers are now required to manage the construction or renovation of green building, and CSU is developing similar policy goals. Waste reduction and recycling systems are essential to green buildings from the start of the process but often not planned for until towards the end of the project. The path to successful implementation requires knowledge of these systems and integrating them into green building designs and operations. This workshop will present nuts and bolts of leading waste reduction and recycling systems at CSU Long Beach, UC Davis, UC Berkeley, and Stanford University ranging from collection systems to Construction and Demolition recycling. Attendees will then participate in a discussion on campus standards and designs utilized at various campuses to integrate food materials, waste reduction, and recycling systems into green buildings.
