	Zipcar "Eileen" at University Town Center UCSC Expands Zipcar Car Sharing Program for Business Use In Fall 2007, UCSC contracted with Zipcar to introduce a new sustainable transportation program called car sharing on campus. Already a successful program among campus affiliates as a convenient alternative to having a personal car on campus, TAPS is now expanding the program to allow use of Zipcar for short-term UC business related travel. Zipcar is a membership-based car rental program providing self-service access to vehicles on campus, 24/7. At UCSC, all eligible UCSC students 18 years of age and older, and staff and faculty can join Zipcar for affordable, convenient access to a car when needed, whether for business-related or personal trips. Departments can also establish a Zipcar Department Account for short-term business-related trips. UCSC has seven Zipcar vehicles conveniently located both on and off campus, including 2300 Delaware and the University Town Center in downtown Santa Cruz. Last modified May 9, 2008.

21st Annual Santa Cruz County Bike Week:
May 10 – 17, 2008

The 21st Annual Spring Bike Week will be held from May 10-17, 2008, with Bike to Work/School Day happening on Thursday, May 15th. Bike To Work Day breakfast sites at UCSC facilities include:

• Seymour Center/Long Marine Lab
• UCSC Women’s Center, Cardiff House
• UCSC “top of bike path”
• UCSC Bike Coop

Summer Session Parking Permits Can Be
Purchased Starting 5/15/08

Summer Session students can purchase permits for the remote parking lots and for a limited number of central campus parking lots; the on-line application will be activated May 15, 2008. Learn more...

Student Parking Permits for Fall 2008

TAPS will begin accepting on-line applications from eligible continuing students for Fall 2008 parking permits soon – check back here during the last week of May for the application link.

Staff/Faculty Parking Permit Renewal

Annual parking permits and Staff/Faculty Metro Bus passes expire on June 30, 2008. If you want to renew your parking permit or bus pass for 2008-09 you can apply on-line or in person at the TAPS Sales Office starting at the end of May. Staff & faculty with “Non-Expiring– Multi-Year” parking permits do not need to reapply in order to continue using their permit unless they want select a different type of permit or purchase a 2008-09 bus pass. check back here during the last week of May for the application link.

New "Downtown" Bike Shuttle Service
Is Under Way

The TAPS Bike Shuttle program has expanded.
New service from the University Inn started
on Monday, April 14th.

UCSC affiliates can use the new service by riding their bikes to the pick-up location at 611 Ocean Street. Bike Shuttle service is reserved for passengers that load a bike onto the trailer; those without bikes may not ride. Parking at the University Inn is reserved for hotel guests, residents and conference attendees; other vehicles will be ticketed.

One van and trailer with capacity for 14 bikes and riders per trip departs from the southwest corner of the (behind) University Inn parking lot (Dakota Street side) at :25 after the hour from 7:25 a.m. to
10:25 a.m., Monday through Friday. Drop-offs on campus are at Physical Plant (Lower Campus) and Cowell Circle (Upper Campus).

Palo Alto/Mountain View –
Our Newest UCSC Vanpool

UCSC affiliates that commute from peninsula cities can take advantage of our latest vanpool. Pick-up points for this vanpool are at the Palo Alto and Mountain View Caltrain stations; program enrollment is required to ride. The van arrives on campus at 9:00 a.m. and departs campus at 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Interested? Learn more about
