Student Life Staff

 

Senior Director (SD)

The Senior Director is the chief administrative officer responsible for the overall planning, development, and coordination of the business and operational functions of the college and student life program including supervision of the staff, fiscal management, policy development, and facilities management.  The Senior Director works in collaboration with the college provost to further the mission of the college.

 

Associate Director (AD)

The Associate Director is responsible for the Student Life Program.  This includes oversight of residential living and non-academic student conduct aspects of the college.  The Associate Director supervises the Housing Coordinator, Office Coordinator, Assistant Director for Residential Education and the College Programs Coordinator.

 

Assistant Director for Residential Education (ADRE)

The Assistant Director for Residential Education is responsible for the Residential Life Program.  This includes oversight of residential living staff.  The Assistant Director for Residential Education supervises the Coordinators for Residential Education.

 

Housing Coordinator (HC)

The Housing Coordinator is responsible for room assignments, contract changes and in conjunction with the Office Coordinator, the management of the Housing Office.  The Housing Coordinator helps students with needs or questions related to the housing contract or student life. 

 

Office Coordinator (OC)

The Office Coordinator is responsible for lock-outs, lock changes, billing and office reception. They help students with needs or questions related to the college or student life. The Office Coordinator supervises the student office assistants.

 

Coordinators for Residential Education (CRE)

Coordinators for Residential Education are full-time professional staff members who reside at the college and coordinate all aspects of residential life for their respective residential areas. They are responsible for the selection, training and supervision of the Resident Assistants, assist with various aspects of the Housing Office , act as conduct officers and provide response to crisis and emergency incidents involving students.  Additionally, they are resources for students when questions or concerns arise.

 

College Programs Coordinator (CPC)

The College Programs Coordinator works to plan orientation, commencement, as well as many events and programs.  They sponsor a wide range of fun events at the college each year to ensure an enjoyable and social living community.  The College Programs Coordinator supervises the Assistant College Programs Coordinator and the Student Program Assistant.  In addition, the College Programs Coordinator advises the college’s student government.

 

Assistant College Programs Coordinator (ACPC)

The Assistant College Programs Coordinator works in tandem with the College Programs Coordinator to plan events and programs for the community.  They also advise student groups and supervise the student tech staff.

 

Resident Assistants (RAs)

The Resident Assistants are undergraduate students who have been selected and trained to serve as community leaders.  They work to develop and maintain a safe, positive and productive living environment. The Resident Assistants address community issues, plan educational and social activities, provide resources and support to residents and ensure that community standards are upheld.

 

Maintenance and Custodial Staff

The Maintenance staff is available for repairs in your room and throughout the residential buildings.  Requests for services are made via the “cruzfix” web site at ches.ucsc.edu/cruzfix/. Custodians are staff you will get to know, respect and appreciate. All residential buildings are staffed with custodians who work cooperatively with students to make each residential building a clean and safe place to live.  They do general cleaning of public areas, bathrooms, lounges, and hallways, as well as other specific tasks to maintain good housekeeping throughout the buildings. Individual room/apartment cleaning is the responsibility of each resident.

 

Groundskeeper

The Groundskeeper maintains the outer areas surrounding the college and residential areas. They plant and cultivate flowers and plants that make the land around the college that lead to its beauty.

 

Residential Community Service Partners (RCSPs)

Formerly Community Safety Officers (CSO's), Residential Community Service Partners (RCSPs) walk through the communities every night and perform a wide range of duties including lock-outs, emergency and disaster response, policy enforcement, and other duties in order to help build a safer, more secure community.
