| Who we are
CPS staff provides the UCSC community with a wide range of mental health services, including short-term individual and couples counseling, group counseling, crisis assessment and intervention, and referral services. CPS is staffed by professional mental health workers, pre-doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellows. We also provide preventative outreach and consultation services to the University community. Please see the Groups & Workshops flyer for information about our workshops and groups. Counseling services are confidential and free of charge to all registered UCSC students.
When to contact us
Students contact CPS for a wide range of reasons, including stress, depression, anxiety, eating and body image concerns, grief and loss, substance abuse, issues related to oppression, discrimination or harassment, personal identity issues, recovery from trauma, relationship concerns, family or academic problems, transitions or simply adjusting to the complex demands of university life. We’re here to assist with any personal concerns that affect your well-being and your education. Family, friends, faculty or staff members who are concerned about a student are welcome to call CPS for consultation.
