A project of the Women's Center, facilitating art and creative writing workshops with women in the Santa Cruz County Jail.  The project was created with the intention of fostering empowerment and creative expression within the local jail system.  The work is driven by a shared commitment to a critical analysis of the current criminal justice system.

Looking for 4 - 6 women:

  • who are self motivated, passionate and critically minded
  • who are  willing to make a two quarter commitment
  • who are available a minimum of 4 hours a week, maximum 8 hours per week

Training is provided.  It is possible to get UCSC credit.  A paid internships may be available for an eligible work-study student.
