
The UCSC Vivarium is responsible for the management of laboratory animal resources at UCSC.
This includes the daily care and maintenance of the animals and communication with the researchers to be sure that their needs are being met and that they are following the campus policies regarding animal use.
Persons who will be using animals for research or teaching should familiarize themselves with the various
Policies, Rules and Guidelines for animal use at UCSC.
To use animals in research or teaching, you must have an approved Animal Use Protocol from the IACUC.
