About Parking Permits for Undergraduate Students

Parking Prohibition for Residential Freshmen & Sophomore Students

First and second–year students (students with less than 90 accredited units) that reside in University housing facilities, including UCSC Inn and University Town Center, are not eligible to purchase a permit (except motorcycle permits) to park on–campus.

"C" College Zone Parking Permits for Eligible Undergraduate Students

All commuting students (except those that live in UCSC Housing facilities) regardless of grade level, and Junior Senior and Transfer students (with a minimum of 90 accredited units) that reside in University housing may purchase a "C" College Zone Permit based on their college affiliation. "C" permits are sold on a first come, first served basis until sold out. "C" permits are only available by the academic year; not sold by the quarter.

C Zone 1 - Sold Out for 2009-10-Academic Year Permit for students affiliated with Colleges Nine & Ten, Cowell College, Crown College, Merrill College, and Stevenson College.

C Zone 2 - Sold Out for 2009-10-Academic Year Permit for students affiliated with College Eight, Kresge College, Porter College and Oakes College.

"R" Remote Lot Parking Permits for Eligible Undergraduate Students

All commuting students (except those that live in UCSC Housing facilities) regardless of grade level, and Junior Senior and Transfer students (with a minimum of 90 accredited units) that reside in University housing may purchase a “R” Remote Lot parking permit valid in the East and West Remote and the North Perimeter lots on–campus, as available. “R” Remote permits can currently be purchased for the academic year or on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Annual & Academic year "R" permits can be purchased on-line ($237 for January through June, 2010); "R" Monthly-$64, "R" Weekly-$18, and "R" Daily-$4 permits must be purchased from the TAPS Sales Office.
