• Combine Bus & Train Travel - Take the Highway 17 Express bus from Santa Cruz Metro's Pacific station in downtown Santa Cruz. To make the train connection at the San Jose Amtrak station take the Highway 17 bus that departs Santa Cruz at 7:55 a.m. on weekdays; 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. The Amtrak Coast Starlight departs from the San Jose train station once per day at 10:07 a.m. The Coast Starlight train stops in Salinas, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Glendale and Los Angeles.
