About Night Parking Permit Requirements

Parking permits are required in most close-in campus parking lots until 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some campus parking lots have extended parking permit requirements:

• Permits are required 24/7, including holidays, in all Family Student Housing parking lots and in all apartment parking lots including Crown/Merrill Apartments, Kresge East Apartments, and Graduate Student Apartments.
• Permits are required 24/7 in Social Sciences Lots 164 & 165.
• Metered parking in campus lots requires payment until 8:30 p.m. weekdays, except in lots where parking enforcement stops at 5:00 p.m.*; check signs at lot entrance.

Two types of nighttime permits are available on an annual, quarterly, and daily basis for persons requiring access to campus parking on weekday evenings; both types of permits cost $102 Annually, $30 Quarterly, or $2 Nightly:

• “N” Night permits provide faculty, staff, graduate students, guests and visitors access to any “A/B” campus parking lot.
• “NC” Night Commuter permits allow eligible commuting undergraduates access to the Core West parking structure, the East Field House and most college parking lots.
• Campus residents are not eligible to purchase “N” or “NC” permits.
• Those already in possession of a valid “A”, “B” or “C” parking permit do not need to purchase an additional permit to park during evening hours. “R” permits have access to Hahn Lot 101 and some college lots after 5:00 p.m.

Other special night parking provisions include:

• Undergraduates with “C” permits have the same night parking access provided by “NC” permits.
• “R” permits have access to Hahn Lot 101 and some college lots after 5:00 p.m.
• Pay Stations that dispense $2.00 permits are located at Hahn Lot 101, Performing Arts Lot 126 and Core West Parking Structure to accommodate evening parking for the lot where the permit is purchased.
• Starting at 4:00 p.m. it is possible to purchase one hour of Core West Parking Structure "Pay & Display" parking for the short-term spaces and add an additional $2.00 for a night parking permit that is valid until 8:30 p.m. Starting at 5:00 p.m. Core West Pay Station permits are valid in any Core West Parking space (except specially marked spaces).

* Parking lots designated free after 5:00 p.m. include: Lot 104 East Remote, Lot 115 Carriage House, Lot 116 Campus Facilities, Lot 117 Cook House, Lot 118 Granary, Lot 122 Barn Theater, Lot 127 West Remote, Lot 137 Shop Barn, Lot 150 North Perimeter, Lot 151 Cardiff House, Lot 170 Blacksmith Shop.
