How To Get To Los Angeles

• UCSC Recreation Department (OPERS) Holiday Chartered Buses - UC Santa Cruz OPERS provides chartered buses from campus to Los Angeles for students at Thanksgiving, on the Turkey Express, and at the end of Fall quarter for the winter break, on the Polar Express. These buses provide round-trip transportation to and from Santa Cruz to these three L.A. locations:

L.A. Valley College – Hatteras & Fulton: Main Entrance
East L.A. College – Atlantic & Avenida Ceasar Chavez
UCLA – S.E. corner of LeConte & Gayle

• Greyhound - Buses depart the Santa Cruz Greyhound station located at 425 Front St. (next to Santa Cruz Metro's Pacific station) four times per day. Contact the service provider for the current schedule.

• Combine Bus & Train Travel: Take the Highway 17 Express bus from Santa Cruz Metro's Pacific station in downtown Santa Cruz. To make the train connection at the San Jose Amtrak station take the Highway 17 bus that departs Santa Cruz at 7:55 a.m. on weekdays; 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. The Amtrak Coast Starlight departs from the San Jose train station once per day at 10:07 a.m. The Coast Starlight train stops in Salinas, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Glendale and Los Angeles.

• Zipcar - a membership-based car rental program providing self-service access to vehicles on the UC Santa Cruz campus, 24/7. Daily rental rates are available.
