Santa Cruz Metro Non-operating Days

Santa Cruz Metro buses do not operate on - Independence Day (Friday, July 4, 2008), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Memorial Day.

TAPS Substitute Holiday Transit Service Between Campus
and Downtown Santa Cruz on Memorial Day, July 4th & Labor Day

UCSC Transportation & Parking Services provides "substitute" transit service between the campus and downtown Santa Cruz on July 4th, Labor Day and Memorial Day. Riders must show a valid UC Santa Cruz ID Card or be able to identify their UCSC affiliation to board TAPS buses; this service is not available to the general public. Campus Transit service is supported by the Student Transit Fee; fare is not required to ride.

On Independence Day and Labor Day TAPS buses depart once per hour.

This service uses the 16 Laurel East route to get to and from campus. Questions about substitute holiday transit service should be directed to TAPS Campus Transit Office at 831-459-3228.

• Metro buses do not run on Independence Day, Friday, July 4, 2008.

• Metro buses operate on their regular weekend schedule on Saturday, July 5 and on
Sunday, July 6, 2008.

• Highway 17 Express buses operate on the weekend schedule on Friday, July 4, 2008.

• Metro Night Owl service does not operate during summer.

• Metro School term service buses do not operate from June 13, 2008
through September 24, 2008.

TAPS On-Campus Transit buses operate the following service levels on Independence Day weekend:

• TAPS will operate regular Night Perimeter bus service on Thursday July 3, 2008.

• There will be no Summer Day Perimeter, Day Core, or Night Perimeter bus service on Friday
July 4, 2008.

• TAPS Campus Transit buses do not operate on weekends during summer; no service on Saturday
July 5 through Sunday July 6, 2008.

UCSC Fremont BART Connector does not operate during summer.
