About Metro Bus Passes for Faculty & Staff

The Faculty/Staff Metro Bus Pass is an alternative transportation program that TAPS offers at the lowest cost possible. During 2008-09 the faculty/staff bus pass fee is $5 per month for those eligible for payroll deduction; $60 annually. By comparison, a monthly bus pass available to the general public from Santa Cruz Metro (SCMTD) costs $50 per month. The faculty/staff bus pass fee provides funding to assist with the cost of billings that TAPS pays to the SCMTD to accommodate faculty and staff transit ridership. Note: For eligible Residential campus affiliates that do not qualify for a Faculty/Staff Bus Pass or a Student ID Card bus pass TAPS offers a Quarterly Metro Bus Pass, for the discounted price of $95.66 for Summer 2008, and $111.66 per quarter for Fall 2008, Winter 2008 and Spring 2009, for Metro bus use. Those eligible to purchase a Quarterly Bus Pass include spouses, domestic partners and children of faculty, staff and students that reside on–campus, including Laureate Court Apartments. Concurrent enrollment students may also be eligible to purchase a Quarterly Metro Bus Pass. Obtain your quarterly bus pass at the TAPS Parking Sales Office located in the H Barn (map) near the main entrance to campus.
