Have You Heard About OPERS Turkey OPERS, the UC Santa Cruz Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports, provides chartered buses that take students to the Los Angeles area for Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. The Turkey Express bus departs campus at noon on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and returns to campus on the Sunday evening after Thanksgiving. The Polar Express bus departs campus at noon on the last day of finals and return the evening before classes begin for the winter quarter.
