About the UCSC – Fremont BART Connector Bus

UCSC offers a weekend shuttle between the campus and the Fremont BART station. UC students, faculty, and staff can use the shuttle to connect with BART, which offers rail service throughout the North Bay, including stops in San Francisco, San Francisco Airport, Berkeley, Concord, and Richmond.UCSC Fremont BART Connector service operates two round–trips a day on Fridays and Sundays during the 2008-09 academic year. On Fridays, the bus departs UCSC at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and departs BART at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. On Sundays, the bus departs UCSC at 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and departs BART at 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Pick–up and drop–off at UCSC is at the Porter Metro Stop on the north side of Heller Drive. Wheelchair access is available; make your needs known when making a reservation. This service is available to University affiliates only. The cost is $13 each–way; 10, 20, and 30 count ticket books can be purchased at the TAPS Sales office.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 831–459–3779 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Reservations can be made up to two weeks prior to your travel date.

Fall service starts on Friday, September 26, 2008.

BART Connector 2008-09 Holiday Schedule

• Veteran's Day - Regular service on Friday 11/07/08 and Sunday 11/9/08. The BART Connector does not run on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

• Thanksgiving Weekend - Special service Wednesday 11/26/08 on Friday schedule. No service Friday 11/28/08. Regular service on Sunday 11/30/07.

• Fall Quarter Finals Week & Winter Break - Last day of Fall quarter service on Sunday 12/7/08. No service 12/12/08 through 1/4/09. Regular service resumes on Friday 1/9/09.

• Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend - Regular service on Friday 1/16/09. No service Sunday 1/18/09. Special service Monday 1/19/09 on Friday schedule.

• President’s Day Weekend -Regular service on Friday 2/13/09. No service Sunday 2/15/09. Special service Monday 2/16/09 on Friday schedule.

• Winter Quarter Finals Week & Spring Break -Last day of Winter quarter service on Sunday 3/15/09. No service 3/20/09 through 3/29/09. Regular service resumes Friday 4/3/09.

• Memorial Day Weekend -Regular service on Friday 5/22/09. No service Sunday 5/24/09. Special service Monday 5/25/09 on Friday schedule.

• Spring Quarter Finals Week -Last day of service is Sunday 6/7/09.
