Help feed locals in need this holiday season!

Each fall quarter, SVC hosts the Meal Plan and Flexi Dollar Drive in conjunction with University Dining Services. UCSC students have the opportunity to donate their remaining meals and flexi dollars to the Second Harvest Food Bank, an organization that then uses the donations to purchase food for Santa Cruz and San Benito County. For every $1 donated, the Second Harvest Food Bank distributes $9 (3 lbs.) worth of food to our community! Please help the Student Volunteer Center and the Second Harvest Food Bank reach their goal of 30,000 pounds this year and donate here NOW!

What you can donate:

Students with 55/75 meals per quarter can donate up to 4 personal meals, while students with 5-day/7-day meal plans can donate up to 4 guest meals, and students with either meal plan can donate up to $20 in flexis in $5, $10, $15, or $20 increments.

Don't know how many meals/flexi dollars you have? Check now

Students can also donate nonperishable food to any of the Second Harvest Food Bank bins around campus, or make a money donation (please make checks payable to the Second Harvest Food Bank).

Where can you donate:

Students can donate right here online through the DONATE HERE button above! Students may also donate at any of the 5 dining halls at the register or through tabling SVC volunteers at the dining hall entrance.

If you are looking to make a nonperishable food donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank, collection bins are located throughout campus. To make a cash donation, you can do so at Mail Services, which is located in the basement of Baskin Engineering.
