All UCSC Students Organizations, Sports Teams,or Student Groups that have participated in service with and for the campus and/or local communities during the 2007-08 academic year are encouraged to apply for the Student Organization/Group Service Award.

This award category recognizes student organizations that have done a remarkable job in making an impact on the UCSC and Santa Cruz communities. Because we believe community service is a vital component that serves to enrich each student's living and learning experience here at UCSC, it is important to recognize student organizations and the contributions they make. Criteria necessary to be considered for this award include:
  • Completion of extended service within the past academic year;
  • Written description detailing the type(s) of service provided by your organization;
  • Written description of the impact your organization's involvement has had on the community(ies) and your members;
  • One letter of recommendation from a member of the community where the most valuable service has occurred who can speak to service completed.
