Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students

STARS provides the extra academic and personal support transfer and re-entry students may need to benefit fully from their education at UCSC whether they are full-or part-time. STARS is here to assist students with their pre-admissions questions, transition concerns, academic support network, and post graduation planning. A transfer student is someone that has completed college courses (after having graduated from high school) prior to coming to UC Santa Cruz.

Re-entry students are defined as undergraduates twenty-five years and older, graduate students twenty-nine and over, students who have had a substantial break in their formal education, military veterans, and all students who are also parents.

Re-admitted students
have been previously admitted to UCSC and are returning after absences. Re-admitted students who meet the above STARS criteria are also encouraged to utilize STARS services.

Students will find drop-in assistance from professional staff members and other resources at two convenient campus locations:

STARS at the ARCenter and STARS at Kresge.

Additional STARS programs include:

UCSC Military Veterans

UCSC Lifelong Learners

Smith Renaissance Society

STARS is an affillate of:

Academic Resources Collaborative (ARCollaborative)

Coalition for Student Academic Success (CSAS)

UCSC Family Center

California Advocates for Re-Entry Education (CARE)
