dolphins, sea otters, sea lions, elephant seals, and harbor seals.
See-More Labs
Join us daily to learn about hot topics from ocean acidification to upwelling. Participate in both family-friendly interactive presentations whether you drop by in the morning or afternoon.
Pep-Sea!
Did you know there are “butterflies” in the sea? Can tiny plants help carbonate the ocean? Come find out the answers to these questions and more during “Pep-Sea, a carbonated ocean.” You can help a coral reef in your everyday life––find out how you’re already involved and connected to the ocean!
Ocean Motion
Join the Seymour Center team as we explore the food web in the green waters of Monterey Bay. Participate in a live demonstration to see how the powerful spring winds on our coast fuel the bountiful life in the world’s oceans. Come learn why the Monterey Bay can support a huge amount of marine wildlife from tiny plankton to blue whales.

Site Tours (daily)
Join our skilled docent guides on a daily
site tour around the Seymour Center
and parts of Long Marine Lab. Tours are
available at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 PM
on a first come, first serve basis. Simply sign up
at the admissions desk when you arrive. If your group is
interested in a private Reserved Tour, please call
(831) 459-3799 at least three weeks in
advance.
Marine Mammal Research
Tours
The
Marine Mammal Research Tour is a 75-minute, behind-the-scenes
tour offering an in-depth exploration of the marine mammal
research projects at Long Marine Lab. Learn about
the work of LML scientists and their
studies of dolphins, sea lions, elephant
seals, harbor seals, and blue whales.
A tour is offered on selected Thursdays and Sundays of each
month beginning at 2:15 PM.

Marine Mammal Research tours
are free with admission and open to the public. They are best
suited for children over 10 years of
age. Space is limited to 12 participants.
