Telemetry Maps for Juvenile Bald Eagles

Juvenile Bald EagleUsing satellite telemetry transmitters, we have studied the natal (first summer) migrations and movements of bald eagles that fledge from nests in California.  Three of the four youngsters traveled to British Columbia in their first and subsequent summers after returning to California in fall and winter. A fourth made yearly migrations to Canada's Great Slave Lake, much like the wintering eagles we have studied.
