Tery Drager

Tery DragerTery Drager joined the UC Santa Cruz staff the year the campus opened in 1965. She has served as technical processes coordinator in McHenry Library, administrative records assistant in the Chancellor's office, assistant to the director of Counseling and Psychological Services, assistant to the Environmental Studies Board, and coordinated field research and special projects for the Environmental Field Program. For more than 30 years, Tery has been the management service officer at the Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group. Tery Drager's depth of experience with University policies and administrative procedures makes her an important member of the University of California, Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group team.

In her role as management services officer, Tery tracks and reports on budgeted expenditures for up to thirty accounts monthly, monitors contract reporting requirements, processes payroll, and is principal SCPBRG liaison to the Physical and Biological Sciences business office. Tery would like to retire, but Brian won't let her.

  • Member, University of California system-wide committee on Granite Mountains Acquisition and Development (UC Natural Reserve System).
  • Member, University of California system-wide committee on Big Creek Reserve Acquisition.
  • Member, University of California system-wide committee on Campus Natural Area/Trail System.
  • Administrative Consultant to committees on: Appropriate Technology (UCSC), farm and Garden (UCSC), International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Marine Mammal Commission, Natural Land and Water Reserves (UCSC), and World Wildlife Fund.
  • Member, Chancellors Committee on Small Scale Agriculture.
  • Member, Chancellor’s Committee on Wilder Ranch Acquisition.
  • California Parks and Recreation Award of Merit for Park Development.
  • Member, Santa Cruz County Park, field Advisory Committee.
  • Financial advisor to the Peregrine Fund for West Coast Project.
