The UCSC/IMS small boat program has a variety of vessels available for researchers to use. To ensure safe operation and proper care all users must be trained and/or checked out by the Diving and Boating Safety Officer, even kayak users. If you need to use the boats for your research please fill out and submit a Boating Proposal form well in advance of your planned use to allow time for training.
