Subject: PPS UNAVAILABLE after 5pm on Friday, 01/02/09


Due to heavy scheduling conflicts, UCOP has asked us to bring the Payroll Personnel System down at 5pm on Friday, January 2nd. Normally PPS would be available until 7pm, however, due in part to the added burden of year-end processes at the various UC locations, January 2nd processes have the potential to cause extreme system slow-downs and possible failure under the current schedule. Closing two hours early would give UCOP more flexibility to schedule the myriad of behind the scenes processes without impacting user functionality. This affects all CICS PPS activity: inquiry, OEU and OPTRS. Please schedule your PPS input/activity accordingly.
