Campus Crime Summary - October 2007
During the month of October there were nine theft reports. Thefts of computers along with personal items all occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles, from dining halls along with offices and dorm rooms. There were several reports of thefts of bicycles that were both locked and unlocked. Remember it is always a good idea to leave un-needed personal items in your locked office or dorm room when going to breakfast, lunch or dinner. There was one non-injury traffic accident and two injury accidents reported for the month of October. UCSC Police Officers issued a total of 98 citations for traffic, University, and Municipal violations. There were nineteen arrests during the month of October. Four affiliates were arrested for public intoxication. One of which had an additional charge of vandalism. One affiliate was arrested for the possession of stolen property. Another affiliate was arrested for vehicle theft. One other affiliate was arrested for battery upon a police officer, public intoxication and being a in possession of alcohol while under the age of twenty-one. One affiliate was issued a citation for theft. Another affiliate was issued a citation for challenging another to a fight in public. Five non-affiliates were arrested for public intoxication. Two non-affiliates were arrested for battery and another was arrested for driving with out a license. One non-affiliate was issued a citation for resisting arrest and another was cited for possession of marijuana.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the Clery Act) is part of the Higher Education Act.
