During the month of November there were twenty eight theft reports. Thefts of computers and personal items occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles, dining halls, offices and dorm rooms. There were six stolen bicycle reports. There were four injury accidents involving bicyclists. There were eleven vandalism reports taken for graffiti and property damage.

Officers made thirteen arrests for the month of November. Five affiliates and two non-affiliates were arrested for public intoxication. Four non- affiliates were arrested for violating a court order and trespassing. One affiliate was arrested for transporting alcohol in a vehicle. One affiliate was arrested for providing false information to an officer.

Most theft of property crimes occur because the opportunity exists. Please do not leave your valuables unattended for any amount of time. Close and lock your doors and windows. Do not leave valuable items in your office during the campus closure. Remember predictable is usually preventable.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the Clery Act) is part of the Higher Education Act. It requires institutions of higher education that receive federal financial aid to report specified crime statistics on college campuses and to provide other safety and crime information to members of the campus community. The UCSC Police Department and designated Campus Security Authorities are required to report these specified crimes.
