Campus Crime Summary - May 2008
During the month of May there were twenty-nine theft reports. Thefts of computers and personal items occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles, dining halls, offices and dorm rooms. There were ten stolen bicycle reports. There were three injury accidents in May. Two of the accidents involved solo bicyclists. There were seventeen vandalism reports taken for graffiti and property damage. There were thirteen arrests for the month of May. Three affiliates and four non-affiliates were arrested for public intoxication. One affiliate and two non-affiliates were arrested for outstanding warrants. One affiliate was arrested for urinating in public. One affiliate was cited and released for a battery charge. One non-affiliate was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Officers wrote 103 traffic related citations and warnings. There was one reported sexual assault where the victim knew the suspect. Both drugs and alcohol were involved in the case.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the Clery Act) is part of the Higher Education Act. It requires institutions of higher education that receive federal financial aid to report specified crime statistics on college campuses and to provide other safety and crime information to members of the campus community.
