During the month of March there were 32 theft reports. Thefts of computers along with personal items occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles, Dining Halls, Staff Offices and Dorm Rooms. Please remember to always lock your office or dorm room when leaving for any period of time. It is also extremely important to secure all ground floor level windows.

There were 8 non-injury and 2 injury traffic accidents for the month of March.

UCSC Police Officers issued a total of 36 citations for Vehicle Code, University, and Municipal Code violations.

There were 13 arrests during the month of March. Four affiliates and three non-affiliates were arrested for public intoxication. Two non-affiliates were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

One affiliate was arrested for Grand Theft and another for Petty Theft. One non- affiliate was cited for being in possession of marijuana. One affiliate was arrested for a having a misdemeanor warrant.

There were fifteen reports taken for vandalism that included property damage and graffiti.

Reminder next month is the national “Click it or Ticket” campaign, so wear your seatbelts.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the Clery Act) is part of the Higher Education Act. It requires institutions of higher education that receive federal financial aid to report specified crime statistics on college campuses and to provide other safety and crime information to members of the campus community. The UCSC Police Department and designated Campus Security Authorities are required to report these specified crimes.
