Campus Crime Summary - February 2009
During the month of February there were eighteen theft reports. Thefts of computers and personal items occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles, dining halls, offices and dorm rooms. There were five stolen bicycle reports. There were two reports of counterfeit money being passed. There were seventeen vandalism reports taken for graffiti and property damage.
Officers made eight arrests in the month of February. Three affiliates were arrested for public intoxication. One affiliate was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. One affiliate was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. One non-affiliate was arrested for graffiti vandalism. One non-affiliate was arrested for domestic violence. One non-affiliate was arrested on a misdemeanor traffic violation
Most theft of property crimes occur because the opportunity exists. Please do not leave your valuables inside your vehicle. Do not leave your room or office unattended for any amount of time. Close and lock your doors and windows. Take the time to help prevent crime. Remember predictable is usually preventable.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the Clery Act) is part of the Higher Education Act. It requires institutions of higher education that receive federal financial aid to report specified crime statistics on college campuses and to provide other safety and crime information to members of the campus community.
