Campus Crime Summary - August 2009
During the month of August there were seven theft reports. Thefts of computers and personal items occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles, dining halls, offices and dorm rooms. There were five stolen bicycle reports. There was one injury accident involving a solo bicyclist. There was one vandalism report taken for graffiti.
Officers made three arrests for the month of August. One non-affiliate was arrested for public intoxication, another for driving on a suspended license and one for an outstanding warrant.
Most theft of property crimes occur because the opportunity exists. Please do not leave your valuables inside your vehicle. Do not leave your room or office unattended for any amount of time. Close and lock your doors and windows. Take the time to help prevent crime. Remember predictable is usually preventable.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the Clery Act) is part of the Higher Education Act. It requires institutions of higher education that receive federal financial aid to report specified crime statistics on college campuses and to provide other safety and crime information to members of the campus community.
