Animal Control Services The UCSC Animal Control Officer Protects, Enforces & Educates.
In order to protect the campus environment and to ensure the safety and welfare of animals on campus, the campus animal control officer is responsible for managing the campus animal population by dealing with problems that arise from both wild and domesticated animals. The campus animal control officer picks up and impounds all stray domestic
animals on campus, and enforces the Non-Research
Animals on Campus Policy, as well as all city,
county and state
laws pertaining to the care and keeping of animals.
The campus animal control officer serves as a public resource by educating the campus community on animal habits and behavior, campus policy, and relevant animal and safety issues. The animal control officer is available to speak with groups and regularly speaks at RA trainings and orientations. Call 459-3688 to schedule a presentation.
