Summer Adult Intermediate Keelboat Sailing Class

The Intermediate Keelboat Sailing Course is Coeducational. The course combines "hands on" rigging and docking practice in the harbor and sailing practice out on the Monterey Bay with instruction in sail trimming, de-powering, powering-up, person overboard recovery techniques, boating safety, weather, ocean conditions, sailing theory, rigging, navigation, and the maritime rules of the road.

Students practice in Santa Cruz 27s. The SC 27 is a locally built ultralight displacement keelboat known for it's sporty performance as well as it's surprising user-friendliness. The class is limited to 16. Students usually sail the boats in groups of 3-4 per boat.

Prerequisite: Intermediate Dinghy. Swimming ability is required.
