Summer Adult Advanced Keelboat Sailing Class Offered 5:30pm-7:30pm, Monday - Thursday! The Advanced Keelboat Sailing Course is a co-ed, hands on course. The class begins with a review of the skills and techniques covered in the Intermediate Keelboat Sailing class. Following the review phase, the emphasis shifts to the introduction of the spinnaker. The fundamentals of spinnaker rigging, packing, setting, jibing, dousing and safety will all be covered and practiced (weather conditions permitting) in this class. Students practice in Santa Cruz 27s. The SC 27 is a locally built ultralight displacement keelboat known for it's sporty performance as well as it's surprising user-friendliness. The class is limited to 16. Students usually sail the boats in groups of 3-4 per boat. Swimming ability is required. Prerequisite: Intermediate Keel. Swimming ability is required.
