SLUG SAILING
|
Ocean Rowing is offered during the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters. Rowing is a coeducational, introductory, physical education course. It is designed to cover boating safety, weather, ocean conditions, types of rowing boats, nomenclature, fundamental skills, and specific safety and rescue aspects related to the activity.
Rowing is one of the the most effective aerobic exercises known and is almost zero impact. Sliding seats facilitate the use of the whole body for the rowing stroke. If you want a total body workout and don't want to be in a sweaty gym, then rowing could be for you! Choose from: Beginning Rowing: No prior rowing experience required. Intermediate Rowing: Prerequisite: Beg. Rowing or prior rowing experience. Rowing Club: Level 1 Rower: Passed Beg. Rowing : Level 2 Rower: Passed Int. Rowing Enroll for rowing classes during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters online, or show up at the first class meeting at the entrance to the East Field House on campus (not at the harbor). Pre-enrolled students must be at the first class meeting in order to retain their spot. Students have priority over the public during Fall, Winter and Spring; however, non-students who hold a current OPERS recreation card may enroll in classes that are not full at the first meeting on campus. Winter quarter is the best bet for non-students during the academic year, as enrollments are usually lower during that time. For more information call (831) 425-1164, or email us: |
