SLUG SAILING

Boating Club

Saturday, May 17th we will be starting our 3 week series of Coronado races. The races will be held from 10 AM until 1 PM, skippers meeting and boat rigging will be at 9:30 AM. Race dates are: 5/17, 5/24, and 5/31. Cost is $5/sailor/race, sign-ups are via in person at the Boating Club Center or by email. You must be a boating club member to join. This is a trial run series for a possible longer summer series.

The UCSC Boating Club provides sailing members a unique opportunity to use any number of sailing vessels under the weekend supervision of the boating center dockmaster. Sailors are evaluated based on experience and allowed boat use accordingly. Sailing vessels for weekend use currently include Coronado 15' dinghies and various keelboats ranging from 22' to 32'.

Sailing Hours: Friday 4-7 PM, Saturday & Sunday 1-6 PM

Unsupervised rowing is also available to interested members. Level 1 rowers (beginning) may row within the harbor boundries, while level 2 rowers may enjoy access to Monterey Bay (weather permitting).

Rowing Hours: Anytime except during class time which is Mon.-Thurs. 7:30-12:30.

Fees:

UCSC students: $40/quarter

UCSC faculty/staff and alumni: $90/quarter and $350/year

Community Members: $100/quarter and $375/year

**Current boating students can receive the Boating club membership at 1/2 price after the 5th week of the quarter during the Academic Calendar.**
