Super Smash Brothers Melee Tournament - February 22, 2008
The Super Smash Brothers Melee Tournament attracted students from all over campus to the Merrill Cultural Center. More than double the expected amount showed up. Three screens were set up to have three brackets of players playing at the same time. It was a single round elimination tournament, so many saw their dreams of owning the prize (a pre-ordered copy of SSB Brawl) drift out of their hands in the first round. The final match was only 5 lives, but lasted well over ten minutes. In the end, one player triumphed over all others to win the grand prize.

In the United States, the holiday has become a celebration of Mexican culture and pride. Students enjoyed the warm, sunny weather, the delicious food, the music, and breaking the pinata.
