Educational Opportunity ProgramsView Website
The Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) represent the University of California's effort to identify, retain, and graduate a diverse student body. With that in mind, the mission of EOP is to promote the retention, academic success, and graduation rates of first generation college, low-income, and educationally disadvantaged student populations, and to assist these students with preparation for admission to graduate and professional schools.
Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students (STARS)View Website
STARS provides the extra academic and personal support transfer and re-entry students may need to benefit fully from their education at UCSC, whether they are full-or part-time. STARS is here to assist students with their pre-admissions questions, transition concerns, academic support network, and post graduation planning. Transfer students are any students admitted with at least 45 transferable quarter units. Re-entry students are any undergraduates age 25 or more, graduate students over age 29, students who have had a substantial break in their college education and are returning to school, student parents, or veterans of the armed services. Re-admitted students have been previously admitted to UCSC and are returning after absences. Re-admitted students who meet the above STARS criteria are also encouraged to utilize STARS services.
