All UCSC students can benefit from Kresge's selection of courses and its accomplished faculty. Kresge has been long associated with the Literature Department , Creative Writing, The Feminist Studies Department, and the Writing Program and The Science Communition Program. It also includes the new residential program Writer's House and the new Center for Reading, Writing, and Book Arts.

Provosts Juan Poblete and Micah Perks oversee academic life, supporting Kresge's academic vision, academic advising, and developing college-sponsored courses. Micah Perks, a fiction writer and literature professor, co-directs the Creative Writing Program and the Living Writers Reading Series. Juan Poblete is a professor of Latin American and Latino Literature and Cultural Studies. He works on issues of transnational/global cultures (literature, radio, film); 19th-century studies; and the history of reading practices.

Their office is located in the Kresge College Main Office.
