Community Solutions Workshop (CSW) is a 1.5 hours, interactive alcohol and other drug (AOD) program for students. Our intention is to create a safe space that fosters reflection and encourages open, non-judgmental discussion about participants' AOD use. Program content is geared toward social users with an emphasis on social norms and reducing the risk of harm to students and the community. This will include a focus on how AOD use may be impacting individuals' academic and student life goals.

CSW is an educational sanction for students who continue to violate UCSC AOD policy or other University regulations while under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and/or other substances. CSW is not appropriate for students who may be presenting signs of chemical dependence or a pattern of abuse involving higher risk behavior such as blackouts, high BAC, transports, etc. These should be considered for referral to BASICS or other individual intervention(s).
