Welcome to the International Living Center (ILC) at the
University of California, Santa Cruz! The ILC was founded
in 2001 at the College Nine and College Ten Apartments and
currently houses approximately 100 students, roughly 50%
from the U.S. and 50% from outside of the U.S. More than
just another place to live, the ILC offers a unique living
and learning environment fostering understanding,
cooperation, and friendship among people from different
nations, cultures, and backgrounds.
Hear it from the ILCers themselves
The ILC is founded on the belief that the best way of
forming intercultural friendships and fostering
international understanding is through working, living,
studying, and socializing with people from different
backgrounds. To this end, the ILC staff and residents
organize special events designed to create a global
community among residents.
