SHOP - Student Health Outreach & Promotion: SHAC
What
is the Student Health Advisory Committee?
SHAC is a branch of the Health Promotions program at UCSC. It is also a real, official student committee who serve as the liaisons between students and Heath Center staff. We create and support health initiatives and other educational opportunities for the campus community.
Interested in health care?
SHAC is a fun and practical way for students interested in health issues and careers to get involved and make connections.
New projects for SHAC:
This year, SHAC is holding an event called the "Stress-Free Zone" each quarter, right before finals week. The Stress-Free Zone provides a fun and relaxing area for students to unwind safely and healthily. Students have access to arts, crafts, games, aromatherapy massage, and lots of great food and music. The event has been very popular so far with the Cowell and Porter Students. Want us to hold it at your college next quarter? Give me an email (see contact info below)!
Where can you find us?
You can often find a SHAC volunteer at the Info Desk in the Health Center Lobby. Our official location is in the SHOP.
