With the major renovation and expansion of the Student Health Center beginning this summer, we want to advise you of the relocation of various components of UCSC Student Health Services, and to review the services that are available on campus during the summer.
Student Health Center Medical Services:
During the renovation this summer, the Student Health Center will remain open for Urgent Care, follow up, and health maintenance appointments (for appointments call 459-2500). The Health Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; patients are received Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (except Wednesday when clinical services begin at 9:30 am). On site laboratory services will be available during the summer from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with some lunchtime closures.
Pharmacy will be open Monday & Thursday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Wednesday 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Closed Tuesday and Friday. (Note: On Wednesday, June 25th both the Pharmacy and Lab will be closed all day for moving).
X-ray will be available by referral off campus, until Fall quarter begins.

Psychiatry Services
On June 24, 2008, Psychiatry Services of the UCSC Campus moved to the third floor of the Kresge College Academic Building. This will be a temporary location during the renovation and construction at the Student Health Center. It is expected that Psychiatry, along with Counseling and Psychological Services, will move to the new building of the Health Center in the Fall of 2009. During the summer, currently registered UCSC students who will continue to be registered in the Fall quarter are seen by appointment. To make an appointment, call 459-2214 or come by the office of the Psychiatry Assistant, Room 234 of the Kresge Academic Building. In July and August the office is open 8-5 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 8-12 Thursday.
Counseling and Psychological Services:
Effective June 16th, the Central Office for Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) will move (temporarily) to Kresge Annex B. CPS will be utilizing Kresge Annex B for the Central Counseling Office during the seismic renovation and new construction at the Cowell Student Health Center Building, planning to move into its new offices at the Student Health Center in Fall 2009. During summer 2008, CPS will provide crisis assessment and referral services to UCSC students Monday through Friday, during regular business hours. In addition, CPS will provide consultation to university staff and faculty regarding any student issue. Phone 459-2628.
During summer 2008, from June 16th to September 1st, the Residential Crisis Program (RCP) will be available to provide regular crisis consultation services to the UCSC residential staff during their regular weekday hours of Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. RCP staff will also be available 24 hours a day during the weekend days throughout the summer.

Directions to Counseling and Psychological Services at Kresge Annex B:
Kresge Annex B is located on the northwest side of campus in Kresge College, next to the Kresge Co-op. Annex B is an orange, one-story building between parking lot 147 and the co-op. There is a small red sign on the left corner of the building that says Kresge Annex B. If you are walking across the pedestrian bridge to Kresge, located across from the Core West Parking Structure, turn left through Kresge College until you get to the Kresge Co-op. Kresge Annex B will be on your left just below the co-op.
Student Health Outreach and Promotion (SHOP):
SHOP will continue to be relocated in Kresge College (Building #157 on the Piazetta, next to the fountain) until the new Student Health Center wing is occupied in Fall 2009.
During the summer, SHOP is open Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call before coming over (459-4679). All regular Health Promotion services will be available except HIV testing, which will resume in Fall quarter. SHOP will be participating in the New Student Orientations in July, and office hours may be limited; please call SHOP for more information.
