The GSA Council is the governing body of the GSA. It consists of one voting member from each department with graduate students, and five elected officers. Department (or board) Represenatives are the voice of their departments on the GSA Council and take part in decisions on discretionary funding, GSA resolutions, and committee work. The officers recommend graduate students for appointments to university committees and speak to the administration on graduate student issues.
Officers are elected at the end of spring quarter for an annual term. The Council may have an officer and a Representative from the same department. The Council meets every two weeks, and all graduate students are invited to attend the meetings. For more details on the GSA organization, read our constitution and bylaws.
