Approval of Minutes and Agenda

Minutes approved.  Agenda rearranged as follows:  LRDP first, funding requests second, elections, committee reports, budget discussion.

LRDP Presentation (Tamara Belknap)

Tamara presented the four current scenarios that all the LRDP subcommittees are discussing based on a projection of 6000 more students by 2020.  The number of students is not a done deal, but the committees are acting as if it is.  All four scenarios feature a graduate college, but in different locations.  PDFs of the maps are available online at:  http://planning.ucsc.edu/lrdp/workshops/04-04-21/.  A major debate in the LRDP process is whether to spread out and maintain the natural look of the developed campus area or to preserve the undeveloped areas and make the developed areas more urban (more infill).  Grads made various comments on the plan.  After Tamara left, Aarti took notes so that Tamara would know what was said.
