November 7, 2007: The City of Santa Cruz Fire Department will be conducting a one-day wildland live fire training exercise at Pogonip on Thursday November 9, 2007. The burn area will be located in the Main Meadow area of Pogonip, to the south of Brayshaw Trail. Prairie Trail and portions of Pogonip Creek Trail and the Brayshaw Fire Road from the Clubhouse to the Brayshaw/Prairie Trail Gate will be closed from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. For further information on this training burn please contact Santa Cruz Fire Department at (831) 420-5280.
October 10, 2007: Wilder Ranch State Park will be conducting a series of vegetation management burns starting on October 11, 2007 and continuing over the next several weeks. Further information about these burns may be obtained by contacting the California State Parks Department at (831)335-6318.
