  • Students.gov is a government wide web portal for that makes it easy for college students to find any kind of federal service or information.  It is coordinated by a variety of federal agencies to provide a one-stop-shopping service.
  • Student jobs is a government web site that provides high school, college, or graduate school students with information on thousands of employment opportunities with the federal government, including internships, co-ops, summer employment, volunteer opportunities and permanent part-time or full-time positions.
  • Register for Selective Service on the Web. Male students can register for the selective service at this site which is a requirement for federal student financial aid eligibility.

  • Family Contribution Calculators 
  • Various calculators to help you estimate how much your family will be expected to contribute to a student's education. If you need to know the estimated cost of a UCSC education, see the standard UCSC student budget.
  • FinAid! The Smart Student Guide to Financial Aid
  • This site contains a wealth of information about all types of financial aid available to fund your college education. Included is information regarding education tax credits and savings plans.
  • International Education Financial Aid page : Search service for scholarships, grants and loans for International Students. NASFAA Financial Aid Information : NASFAA (The National Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators) is another resource for students and families. The College Board : Obtain information about colleges and universities, college financing, college admission testing, admission requirements and academic preparation.   
  • Yahoo Directory of Financial Aid: This site provides many links related to the financing of education.

Keep in mind that much of this information is specific to certain schools. Be particularly careful to observe UCSC's deadlines which may differ from deadlines on other sites.
