Our Mission
The UCSC Financial Aid Office is committed to making it possible for admitted students to attend UCSC regardless of economic circumstances.
Each year we assist more than 10,000 students or about 6 out of every 10 undergraduates with scholarships, grants, loans, and/or part-time employment opportunities. We also assist graduate students with federal student loans. These resources, totaling over $140 million annually, help make UCSC's extraordinary learning facilities affordable to all California students.
To recognize academically outstanding undergraduate students, we award about $1,600,000 per year in merit scholarships. Last year nearly 700 students were selected by faculty to receive merit scholarships.
Our staff is constantly in training to provide students with excellent service. You can expect courteous and knowledgeable attention appropriate to your circumstances.
