How to Apply for Financial Aid (including loans and UCSC scholarships) Students wishing to be considered for grants, scholarships, work-study, student and parent loans from federal, state, and UCSC financial aid sources must apply/reapply each year. The application process begins in January, a full eight months before the academic year begins.
Don't forget to apply for a Cal Grant. This grant covers most UC fees and is renewable. Need Help?

A useful tool in preparing to complete the online application is the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet. The worksheet, designed to ensure you have collected all the financial information you will need before completing the FAFSA online. It saves time and serves as a guide as you complete the FAFSA. Review your student aid report (SAR) Review your the data on your SAR for accuracy. If you receive a rejected SAR, the form will highlight specific information for you to provide. Make any needed changes immediately. You may either return the form for reprocessing or make the changes through Corrections on the Web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. You will need your Federal Student PIN. The data on your SAR will be sent to the schools you listed on the FAFSA. If UC Santa Cruz is not listed on the report, we will not receive your financial aid application. You must submit a correction to list UC Santa Cruz. Note: After you receive your first financial aid offer from UC Santa Cruz, all corrections must be sent to the UCSC Financial Aid Office. Corrections sent to the federal processor will not be accepted. check the status of your fafsa Applicants who do not have access to the Internet can check the status of their FAFSA by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) and answering questions asked by an automated system. |
