Common Aid Disbursement Issues

Why financial aid might not show as a credit on your student billing account.

Your financial aid may be on hold for a variety of reasons. The most common are listed below:

Possible Reason Action Required
Incomplete To Do's (document or information requests from the Financial Aid Office) Log on to my.ucsc.edu and check both your "To Do List" and "Holds" on the right side of "My Student Center".
Direct Loan Promissory Note not signed Check the Federal Direct Loan website. Log in using your FAFSA PIN to ensure your promissory note is complete
Direct Loan Entrance Interview not complete This will be posted on your MyUCSC To Do list as "incomplete". Access the online interview here.
Perkins Loan Promissory Note not signed Log on to MyUCSC.edu and navigate from "My Student Center" to "View My Financial Aid". There will be a link for the Perkins Loan Promissory Note. If you already signed it, the link allows you to view it. Otherwise, you can use the link to complete the promissory note.
Perkins Loan Entrance Interview not complete This will be posted on your MyUCSC To Do list as "incomplete". Follow this link to complete this requirement.
You are not enrolled in enough units Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 units and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 5 units. You may view your enrollment in My Student Center on my.ucsc.edu
Your ACG or SMART Grant is on hold pending caculation of your prior term GPA and/or your college grade level No action is necessary on your part; the Financial Aid Office typically determines your eligibility the fourth week of each quarter
