Deadlines and Key Dates - Graduate Students

The financial aid office assists graduate students with Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and Graduate PLUS loans. Students wishing to apply must file a FAFSA for the academic year in which they would like to receive a loan.

2007-08 Key Dates

  • July 1, 2007 :  Priority FAFSA deadline for graduate students wishing to receive loan funds for Fall 2007.

  • September 19 , 2007 :  Financial aid credits to UCSC accounts. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 5 units.

  • September 24 , 2007 :  Financial aid refunds disbursed.

  • October 5 , 2007 :  Graduate student enrollment and fee payment deadline.

  • January 1 :  First day to submit FAFSA and GPA Verification Form for the next academic year. Students are advised to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible but no later than March 2. You may submit either the paper version or the online application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • August 15: Fall quarter bills will be mailed around this date. You may view your anticipated aid at My UCSC and subtract this amount from your total charges. Financial aid in excess of university charges will be available in a check form or will be directly deposited to your personal bank account on or about the first business day of fall quarter.
  • Mid-September: Fall quarter bills will be due around this date.
  • Late September: Instruction begins. Don't forget to update your address(es) on the student portal.
  • January 1 :  Restart at the beginning for the next academic year.
