http://shr.ucsc.edu/topics/training-development/prof-dev/fair-hiring.htm

The description of the Fair Hiring workshop is as follows:

Attracting and hiring the most qualified candidates is becoming more and more of a challenge for us at UCSC. In this two-part workshop you will learn campus best practices to ensure fairness and excellence in all stages of the recruitment process. Part one focuses on the process itself and covers such topics as developing effective recruitment plans, the search committee's role and responsibilities, evaluating applications, interviewing, reference checking and final selection for hire.

Part two focuses on compliance, benefits of a diverse workforce and additional best practices. The compliance section provides information on laws and policies related to equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and disabilities. You will also hear about the latest research on the impact of diversity at universities. Part two includes interactive discussions and exercises to help you attract and hire the best person for your job."
